The Indian Premier League may have been pushed to April 15, 2020 but Fantasy gaming platforms would be hoping it commences in its full glory or doesn’t get further suspended as the revenues of many depend upon it.

FanFight, one of India’s fastest-growing fantasy gaming platforms, is aiming to reach 10 million subscribers by the end of the upcoming Indian Premier League season.

From a million subscribers in 2018, FanFight managed to reach six million by IPL 2019 and by the end of IPL 2020, the Bangalore-based company hopes to reach the eight-figure mark.

Akhil Suhag, the CEO of FanFight, believes that, just like every IPL season, the 2020 edition will accelerate the growth of the company and help reach their goals.

“We have been growing 4-6x in every IPL season and we are hoping that the trend continues this year too. We are very confident that we will reach our magic number of 10 million consumers by the end of IPL 2020," said Suhag, an ISB alumni who founded the company in 2016.

According to Suhag, affordable internet services and viewership on smartphones are the key factors for the soaring popularity of cricket in India, especially the IPL.

“Cricket in India has grown multi-fold in the last four to five years and the reach has increased with the explosive growth of viewing on mobiles and the reduction in data cost in the country,” he explained.

While the majority of its users have come on the site to play fantasy cricket, the platform also offers its consumers a chance to play fantasy football and kabaddi thus attracting interest from followers of sports besides cricket.

One of the unique aspects of FanFight is its availability in multiple languages that has helped target audiences across India.

Besides daily cash prizes, FanFight sets itself apart from other platforms by offering fast cash withdrawals and a chance to compete with friends.

It also boasts of the “shortest lag between the live game and updates to the players on their potential wins.”

Cricketing activities across the globe, however, have come to a standstill in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

But with the IPL set to resume in September, FanFight will be setting sights on their targets again.

“We are equally excited like any other fan of cricket in India and eagerly looking forward to IPL 2020,” Suhag said.
