Ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021, fantasy sports platform PlayerzPot has named Sunil Yadav as the new chief executive officer (CEO) of the firm.

Indian fantasy gaming platform PlayerzPot has announced the appointment of Sunil Yadav as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Sunil Yadav had been a strategic advisor to the company since its inception in 2015 and officially joined PlayerzPot as a marketing director in 2019.

He holds the experience of working extensively on time stringent projects and government entities and, in this new role, Sunil Yadav will be responsible to propel steady and stable growth for the fantasy sports firm.

“It has been great and enriching working with Sunil for all these years. He has been instrumental in driving growth during these trying times,” co-founder Mr Mitesh Gangar said.

“His extensive knowledge of the industry and our business and the users make him the ideal person to lead the team into the next phase of our growth.”

This top-level rejig comes barely one month before the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021, which is one of the busiest periods for fantasy gaming platforms.

The last season of the cash-rich T20 league brought massive success to PlayerzPot as it claimed to have reached more than two million users, with the majority of them coming from lower-tier cities of India.

The new CEO will be aiming to continue the growth of the firm, which aims to tap into the unexplored potential of the Indian gaming sector and become the market leader in this segment.

“I am grateful for having been entrusted with the responsibility of leading the team at PlayerzPot. I am looking forward to working even more closely with the co-founder to help the team reach new heights,” Sunil Yadav said.

The Mumbai-based fantasy sports platform currently has fantasy cricket, fantasy football, and fantasy kabaddi in its portfolio.

It had raised around USD three million in its Series A financing round in November and is currently endorsed by Indian cricket team stars Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Smriti Mandhana.
