Indian cricket players Suresh Raina, who recently announced his retirement, and Harmanpreet Kaur have been appointed global brand ambassadors of WTF Sports.

WTF Sports signs Suresh Raina, Harmanpreet Kaur as brand ambassadors

Win Trade Fantasy (WTF) Sports, the latest entrant in the flourishing fantasy gaming market, has roped in former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina and Indian women’s cricket team captain Harmanpreet Kaur as global brand ambassadors.

Raina, who recently announced his retirement from international cricket, will also offer his services as a strategic partner to the brand.

“It is exciting to be a part of a fantasy sports platform like WTF Sports not just as an ambassador but also as the strategic partner, it is everything that I embody and what I believe in, it’s fierce, fun and competitive,” Suresh Raina said during a web conference for the brand.

Harmanpreet Kaur, who will join Suresh Raina as the brand ambassador of the Bengaluru-based startup, led the Indian women’s cricket team to the finals of this year’s T20 World Cup.

During the absence of sporting activity due to the COVID-19 outbreak, Harmanpreet Kaur turned to the fantasy gaming platform to stay close to the sport.

“WTF Sports was the perfect fit for me, I can use strategy and my experience while playing, I’ve actually learned to strategize better as I’ve played along,” Harmanpreet Kaur, a recipient of the Arjuna Award, said on the new alliance.

“Additionally, when we were under lockdown and I couldn’t really practice, it was fun to come on the platform and feel like I’m still playing,” she added.

WTF Sports joins the fast-expanding list of fantasy sports operators in India, which grew from less than 10 operators in 2016 to more than 140 by the end of 2019. The app currently offers users to build their fantasy teams for three sports - cricket, football, and basketball.

Suresh Raina and Harmanpreet Kaur join the growing list of cricketers - that includes Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, and Rashid Khan - to strike an endorsement deal with various fantasy gaming brands.
